A cloudless Venus globe with 3d surface relief detail based on data from the Magellan probe.
Venus's surface is normally permanently obscured by an opaque beige coloured cloud layer. Instead this globe, makes use of radar-derived data to represent the known Venusian surface albedo (lighter areas representing more radar reflective areas, darker less so).
Topographic detail has been somewhat exaggerated on the z-axis in order to make more tactile since otherwise Venus would be too smooth to perceive. In this case, detail is enough to feel the major "continents" of Venus Isthar Terra, Aphrodite Terra, Alpha Regio, Beta Region.
