Note: Due to the spacecraft's flyby trajectory, the dwarf planet, and subsequently this model lacks full mapping of its southern hemisphere, unmapped regions currently shaded in a uniform colour matching the planet's overall palette.
The opposite-to-the-heart feature hemisphere is also mapped in much reduced resolution since it was possible to be photographed only during the approach and not during the actual flyby itself. Similar is the case with Charon, with most of its surface being grey.
